Whylands Lake Complex, 2 miles from Battle in East Sussex, covers an area of 154 acres of countryside, with a huge 50 acres plus of water comprising 8 different lakes. This includes a match water known affectionately as "The Snake" which is over 2 miles long, holds 205 pegs and with the 5 1/2 hr match record standing at a massive 197 lbs. it is no wonder that it is seen as one of the premier waters in the country.
The lakes are a mix of specimen carp waters with fish to 20 lbs. plus, multi-specimen waters which contain perch, roach, rudd, bream and crucians, which are great for the youngsters and one water described as a "carp free zone. "Boilies and luncheon meat along with dog biscuit and floating bread all take their share of specimen carp, while sweet corn, maggot and flake are used on the multi specimen lakes.Whylands also caters for touring caravans and tents as well as boasting a snack bar and toilets.
